Brands we service in Carlsbad
Carlsbad kitchens are usually a Sub-Zero and a Wolf specified together, with wine storage somewhere and something built into the patio, and the mix shifts noticeably between the coast and the inland side of the city.
The most common pairing we walk into here is Sub-Zero refrigeration with Wolf cooking. They come from the same company and tend to be chosen in the same conversation, which is why a call about a warm refrigerator in Aviara so often finishes with a look at a range burner that has been clicking for a month. Cove, the dishwasher in that family, turns up in the newer runs. Wolf has never built refrigeration and Sub-Zero has never built a range, so a kitchen with both simply has both.
Viking marks the older remodels, particularly in Olde Carlsbad and the earlier La Costa houses, and it is what most of the outdoor kitchens around here are built around, because this weather makes an outdoor kitchen worth having and then quietly punishes whatever gets installed in it. Thermador tends to arrive as a complete suite in the newer Bressi Ranch and Aviara builds where the whole kitchen was specified at once: Freedom columns, a Star Burner cooktop or a Freedom Induction top, and the wall ovens to match.

Our wine column up in La Costa held its set point on the display while the bottles on the lower racks sat warm. He read each zone at rack height, found the circulation fan in the bottom zone had quit, and swapped it. Nothing beeps on those, which is the scary part.

The freezer drawers under our bar in Bressi Ranch had started frosting at the edges and everything inside was one solid block. Condenser had never been cleaned since the house was built, apparently. He cleaned it, changed the seal, and the drawers have been fine since.

Cubes came out small and half hollow so I assumed the ice maker was done for. He measured the water pressure at the valve first, found the filter years past due and scale on the fill tube. The water here is hard on these machines. Full size cubes again without replacing the module.
