Our wine column up in La Costa held its set point on the display while the bottles on the lower racks sat warm. He read each zone at rack height, found the circulation fan in the bottom zone had quit, and swapped it. Nothing beeps on those, which is the scary part.

The freezer drawers under our bar in Bressi Ranch had started frosting at the edges and everything inside was one solid block. Condenser had never been cleaned since the house was built, apparently. He cleaned it, changed the seal, and the drawers have been fine since.

Cubes came out small and half hollow so I assumed the ice maker was done for. He measured the water pressure at the valve first, found the filter years past due and scale on the fill tube. The water here is hard on these machines. Full size cubes again without replacing the module.
The three things that keep coming up
The window held. The quote and the invoice matched. The person who arrived could say what had failed and why, in language that meant something. Nobody writes a review about a refrigerator getting cold again — that was the deal — so what gets written about is everything either side of it.
The fourth, less often but more strongly worded, is that nothing was pulled out of the cabinetry. A built-in in a Carlsbad kitchen sits between stone and panel work that costs more than the appliance, and the whole design assumes service through the grille rather than a unit dragged across the floor.
